The careers and pathways program at Cranbourne West Secondary College aims to embed into the wider curriculum, the skills and knowledge that our students will need to navigate the future world of work, and to understand their own narrative within their wider systems

Students and families are welcome to make appointments with Ms Evans, to discuss specific course and career choices, and make sure they are on track to achieving their goals for their work and study plans.

Careers Pathways & Options

Career Action Plan

As part of the careers program at Cranbourne West Secondary College, all students will complete a Career Action Plan (CAP) from Year 7-12. Each year students will review their goals and future pathways.

My Career Profile

In year 8, students will create their own Career Profile and begin exploring careers based on their interests, abilities and values.

Vocational Pathway Options

Work Experience

Experiencing the workforce is one of the most effective ways to gain insight into specific professions and the nature of work in our culture, which can help young people make decisions about their own future plans. We encourage all students to undertake work experience, and it is an important part of our school program.

To complete work experience, students must complete the following:

  • Go to the Safe@Work website and follow the link to the “General Modules”
  • Click on each module and read the information
  • If requested by your teacher you can also access the “Industry Specific” modules on that page and complete these
  • Click on “safe@work Self assessment tests” in the right hand menu and complete these assessments as directed by your teacher
  • Print your certificate for your teacher

Finding Employment

The following will assist students in finding employment.
